Shane Finn

Shane Finn is an associate attorney at ZMO Law PLLC focusing his practice on civil rights cases in New York’s federal courts. He has worked on matters involving excessive use of force by police, sexual assualt of women prisoners by corrections officers, and wrongful arrests and prosecutions. His meticulous attention to detail and strong analytical skills enable him to support clients effectively through all phases of negotiation and litigation.

Criminal Defense Attorney

Prior to joining ZMO Law, Shane was an attorney at Stulberg & Walsh, LLP in Manhattan. He graduated with a masters in law (LLM) from Columbia Law School in 2022. Shane gained valuable courtroom experience interning at the Kings County District Attorney’s Office, where he supported prosecutions through evidence analysis, witness interviews, and motion preparation.

Shane’s international legal experience includes working as judicial assistant-the equivalent of a judicial law clerk-to the Hon. Mr. Justice Donal O’Donnell, chief justice of the Supreme Court of Ireland. In this role, he researched to constitutional law matters, advised on judicial decision-making, and worked to implement remote court procedures during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Shane is admitted to practice law in New York and the U.S. District Courts for both the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. He has published academic papers addressing intersections of law, culture, and jurisprudence.

Shane is a member of the New York City Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association. In his personal time, he enjoys opera, orchestral music, cycling, and playing rounders.
