We are delighted to announce that distinguished Irish-born attorney Shane Finn has joined ZMO Law PLLC as an associate. Shane’s practice here will focus on civil rights, criminal defense and vindicating the rights of victims of sex crimes in New York State and federal courts.
Shane “read law” at Oxford University in the United Kingdom prior to serving as judicial assistant to the Hon. Mr. Justice Donal O’Donnell, chief justice of the Supreme Court of Ireland-Cúirt Uachtarach na hÉireann-from 2019-2021. He then studied at Columbia Law School, graduating with an LLM as a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar in 2022. Along the way, he interned at the Kings County District Attorney’s Office. After completing his U.S. law degree, he worked as an associate at Stulberg & Walsh.
“Shane brings to ZMO Law energy, spirit, good humor and a profound commitment to justice,” said principal attorney Zachary Margulis-Ohnuma. “His work will help us advance our mission and the interests of our clients, ensuring no one spends one minute longer locked up than absolutely necessary, and no one receives one penny less than due them when their rights are violated, whether it be by police, jailers, or sex traffickers.”
Shane is a member of the New York City Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association. He is admitted to practice before the courts of the State of New York and in the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York. He will be working on complex federal criminal cases, innocence investigations, sex trafficking investigations, lawsuits, health care fraud defense, and civil rights cases.
